When you been around as long as we have you know all the tricks of the trade which is why we encourage artists to build instead of chasing social media numbers… lay a real foundation and build brick by brick. That takes years but at the end of it all they have a real solid foundation upon which they can build upon, brand and market themselves. And generate revenue. The social media game is based on illusion… on arbitrary numbers that can be bought… Anybody can buy millions of social media friends, fans and followers if they got the money, millions of views, likes, streams and downloads. Even comments. At some point it all comes crashing down, sure a few people get over but the masses of artists trying to fake it til they make it won’t. Industry folks see through this. All the money artists spend on the illusion would be better spend putting themselves in the best possible position for success by building a real foundation and base.
